Again, media consumption will change even faster than we thought. The iPad is not a Wifi-Extension for some Library on some home PC, it IS the library, may it be local or in the cloud. IP broadcasting and on-demand is even more mandatory after this release, and the prospect of the future of general-purpose computing as pointed out in those articles.

I have no idea how they manage to find such high quality music which is not redundant at the same time, how they handle licensing, but I am surely very thankfull for every new show, and even listen to the backcatalogue over and over again.

Ohne dem Herrn John Yettaw nahe treten zu wollen, muss man ihn anhand aller vorliegenden berichte als verwirrten einzelgänger einstufen, vietnam-veteran mit kriegstrauma, großer familie, wenig geld. hochinteressant die kommentare auf einem religiösen blog aus dem gebiet von Yettaws letztem wohnort:

“This is a man who has had many tragedies in his life. A traumatic childhood, disastrous marriage, a fire several years ago in which the family lost virtually everything, the loss of his 17 yr old son, for whom he is still deeply grieving. He has struggled with many demons. Yet he is known locally as a man who feeds the poor, gives veterans rides wherever they need to go, puts them up for a night in a motel when they are homeless, empties his pockets to any beggar who asks.”

“How do we know that the government is not involved in this anyway? He sounds like a desperate guy that would easily be bought …is it really unlucky and accidental what has just happened? Is it really caused by the ignorance of a selfish act or is this a planned action made to look accidental …nothing would surprise me in fact the latter sounds more like it.”

Bei der verurteilung beider (Yettaw und Aung San Suu Kyi) schon die gespielte bestürzung von Junta-General Than Shwe zum “harten urteil” mit anschließender abmilderung: eine bloße farce, um die unterstützenden länder wie china hart an die grenze des noch zu akzeptierenenden zu bringen. schließlich geht es vorrangig darum, Aung San Suu Kyi von von den kommenden Wahlen abzuhalten, da ist es derzeit egal ob sie ein jahr oder 10 jahre hausarrest bekommt.

dann meine verwunderung, als Yettaw trotz “begnadigung” doch zu 7 jahren lagerarbeit verurteilt wurde: war das etwa doch “ernst”? ach nein, siehe da, schon zwei tage später kommt der gute onkel Webb angeflogen und holt den schlimmen buben ab. er wird “ausgewiesen” heisst es, natürlich seine rettung und ein spaziergang für John Yettaw. Senator Webb auf den spuren Clintons, alles ein bisserl kleiner halt, Burma hat ja (noch) keine Atomwaffen so wie Nordkorea.

Die amerikanische regierung hätte Yettaw dem Justizsystem Burmas überlassen sollen, um konsequent protestieren zu können, oder die freilassung BEIDER personen verknüpfen sollen. mit der jetzigen vorgangsweise ist das schicksal von Aung San Suu Kyi besigelt, nun muss Amerika ruhig sein, ihren “Amerikaner” haben sie ja bekommen.
